  • Uttar Pradesh Farmers To Use Drones In Agriculture Work

    Farmers in Uttar Pradesh will soon use drones in agriculture work. Making this claim an official spokesman said as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had already stressed on the use of latest technology and its encouragement in the agriculture field, efforts were on to make use of drones in Uttar Pradesh. The spokesman said, “The use of technology is beneficial in all types of farming and drone technology will be helpful in agriculture. Through drones, farmers can spray pesticides, water-soluble fertilizers and nutrients in one acre of the field in just seven minutes. It will not only save time and resources but also ensure the safety of farmers from toxic chemicals due to manual spraying.”
  • Yogendra Yadav Resigns From Kisan Morcha Coordination Committee

    Activist Yogendra Yadav said that he had resigned from the Samyukta Kisan Morcha Coordination Committee. Yadav, who played a key role during the year-long agri movement last year, said he will remain a "soldier" of the farmers' collective. Yadav's resignation letter was made public by the SKM at a press conference at Gurudwara Rakabganj in Delhi. In the letter, Yadav said he will no longer be a member of the coordination committee of the SKM, an umbrella body of about 40 farmer unions that had spearheaded the farmers' movement against the now-scrapped farm laws last year.
  • Dr. Mahalingam Govindaraj To Receive 2022 Norman Borlaug Award

    The World Food Prize Foundation has announced that Dr. Mahalingam Govindaraj, Senior Scientist for Crop Development at HarvestPlus and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, will receive the 2022 Norman E. Borlaug Award for Field Research and Application, Govindaraj who has been recognized for his outstanding leadership in mainstreaming biofortified crops, particularly pearl millet, in India and Africa. For more than a decade, he has directed the development and dissemination of high-yielding, high-iron and high-zinc pearl millet varieties that have contributed to better nutrition for thousands of farmers and their communities.
  • Tata Sons Ex-Chairman, Cyrus Mistry Dies In Accident

     Cyrus Mistry, who succeeded Ratan Tata as chairman of Tata Sons but was later ousted in India's most high-profile boardroom coup, was killed in a car accident in Maharashtra's Palghar. He was 54 and was traveling from Gujarat's Udwada to Mumbai in a Mercedes car. The entire nation was shocked by this news.
