  • Isha Kickstarts Massive Plantation Drive In Tamil Nadu As Part Of Cauvery Calling, Targets 1.1 Crore Trees In 2023

    To mark the special occasion, Sadhguru, in a message, shared, “Ending the ‘Use and Throw’ mentality is not only about reducing pollution, but it is also about respect for all creation. Everything comes from the living earth. Let us use it responsibly.” In Tamil Nadu, Cauvery Calling successfully kickstarted a series of tree plantation drives aimed at enabling state farmers to plant 1.1 crore trees in their farms this year. Last year, the Cauvery Calling Movement achieved a milestone of planting 1 crore trees in Tamil Nadu.

  • Ex MGNREGS Chief Coordinator Taking Vetiver to Sundarbans in West Bengal, Creating Awareness About Divine Grass

    Syed Samsun Nabi, the coordinator for the India Vetiver Network, hosted Vetiver Grass Awareness program in Sagar Block, Sundarbans, West Bengal on June 5, World Environment Day. More than 300 farmers have learnt about vetiver grass during this event. The aim of the event is to disseminate accurate knowledge about the vetiver grass. During the programme he said that he has “mobilized the poor section of the society to understand the merits of the grass.”

  • Agricultural Land Sale Revenue Not Considered Capital Asset: ITAT Verdict

    The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in Delhi has ruled that income generated from the sale of agricultural land should not be considered as a capital asset. The bench, comprising Saktijit Dey (Judicial Member) and M. Balaganesh (Accountant Member), has concluded that income tax is not applicable to the proceeds obtained from the sale of agricultural land.
