  • Tamil Nadu's Spinning Mills Boost Production by 5 Lakh kg of Yarn Daily

    As more machines have been installed, production capacity has expanded by over 5 lakh kg per day, bringing total production in Tamil Nadu to 35 lakh kg per day for use in the fabrication of lungis, leggings, Bermuda shorts, bedsheets, and so on. These investments were planned by the mills more than a year ago, when demand was robust and the market was healthy. They either purchased new machinery to increase capacity or updated their existing units. Almost all of the new equipment was purchased from China.

The AI Institute for Climate-Land Interactions, Mitigation, Adaptation, Tradeoffs, and Economy (AI-CLIMATE) aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) to develop more climate-smart practices that absorb and store carbon while also boosting the agricultural and forestry industries' economies.

Apart from Australia, many players intend to buy cotton from Africa, as the central government has implemented a policy that reduces import duties by half for imports from developing countries.

At least four children were murdered, 25 were injured, and around 300 residential homes were severely destroyed as a result of flash floods.

  • China Grants Safety Approval to Gene-Edited Soybean Crop

    China has granted safety approval for a gene-edited soybean, marking the country's first endorsement of the technology in a crop. This move is in line with China's growing reliance on science to enhance food production. The soybean, which was created by Shandong Shunfeng Biotechnology Co., Ltd, a privately owned company, contains two modified genes that substantially increase the amount of beneficial oleic acid in the plant.
