    Escorts Kubota announced that from today onwards, the prices of its tractors would increase.   • NTPC RE Ltd Signs MoU with GACL

    NTPC RE Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) to realise green energy and green hydrogen objectives, as well as the Government of India's efforts toward a carbon-neutral economy. Harshad R Patel, Managing Director of GACL, and Mohit Bhargava, Chief Executive Officer of NTPC REL signed the MoU. The MoU envisions collaborating in the fields of Renewable Energy, Green Methanol, and Green Ammonia, as well as mutually exploring opportunities for the supply of 100 MW RE-RTC (Round The Clock) power and the production of 75 TPD Green Methanol and 35 TPD Green Ammonia for captive use by GACL at its Vadodara and Dahej complexes in Gujarat.

    To decrease the area under paddy crop in the state, the Agriculture Department has now included basmati paddy within the ambit of ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat’ scheme and also included poplar and eucalyptus trees in the list of alternative crops for diversification. The spokesperson of the Ambala unit of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Charuni), Rajiv Sharma, said: “The objective of the scheme is to save groundwater. At the same time, the government should provide an alternative crop having yield at par with paddy so that there is no financial loss to farmers. The trees will take around four years to mature.”
