  • Farmers plan protests at toll plazas, memorandums to DCs

    As part of their plan to intensify their agitation, farmers rallying on the Ghazipur entry point on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border said on Friday that they would hold dharnas at toll plazas and also submit memorandums to district authorities across the country.

    Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait, who along with his supporters are rallying at Ghazipur border, told: "On December 12, we will protest at the toll plazas across the country."

  • Indore power dept. officials to use e-vehicles

    Electricity company officials of Madhya Pradesh's commercial city Indore will use electric vehicles starting 2021. A charging station to power up these vehicles is being set up at the Polo Ground here.

    Along with the managing director of Madhya Pradesh Western Region Power Distribution Company, six other officials of the headquarters will also use e-vehicles in the new year to promote and send out an "environment-friendly" message.

  • Leh freezes at minus 11.9, Gulmarg shivers at minus 5.2

    At minus 11.9 and minus 5.2 degree Celsius as the night's lowest temperatures on Friday, Leh town and Gulmarg were the coldest places in Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, respectively.

    The mercury dropped to a bone-chilling minus 11.9 degree Celsius on Friday in Leh town of Ladakh region while the famous ski resort, Gulmarg of Jammu and Kashmir recorded minus 5.2 degree Celsius as the minimum temperature.

  • Tomar urges protesting farmers to continue talks

    Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday urged the leaders of the farmers' unions continue the dialogue and find an amicable solution to the issues related to the new farm legislations.

    Both the Cabinet ministers were addressing a press conference here, a day after the farmers' unions unanimously rejected the offer by the Centre to amend the laws recently enacted to bring reforms in agriculture and allied sectors.

  • Green pandemic recovery essential to close climate action gap: UNEP

    The UN Environment Program (UNEP) said that a green coronavirus pandemic recovery could cut 25 per cent off predicted 2030 greenhouse gas emissions and bring the world closer to meeting the two degrees Celsius goal outlined in the 2015 Paris climate deal.

    According to UNEP's 2020 Emissions Gaps Report released in Thursday, despite a dip in carbon dioxide emission this year caused by the pandemic, the world is still heading for a temperature rise in excess of 3 degrees Celsius this century, Xinhua news agency reported.

  • MOHUA launches Socio-Economic Profiling of PM SVANidhi beneficiaries

    Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs launched a programme of Socio-Economic Profiling of PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and their families today, as an additional component of PM SVANidhi Scheme, in the presence of representatives of various Central Ministries and State officials. Under this, a complete profile of each PM SVANidhi beneficiary and their family members will be prepared. Based on the profiled data, benefits of the various eligible Central Schemes would be extended to them for their holistic socio-economic upliftment.

    The launch has been in the context of the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister that PM SVANidhi scheme should not be seen merely from the perspective of extending loans to street vendors but should also be seen as an instrument for outreach to street vendors and their families for their holistic development and socio-economic upliftment.

  • Result of Engineering Services(Main) Examination 2020

    On the basis of the result of the written part of the Engineering Services (Main) Examination, 2020 held by U.P.S.C. on 18th October 2020, the candidates with the under mentioned Roll Numbers have qualified for Interview/ Personality Test.

    In accordance with the Rules of Engineering Services Examination, 2020, all these candidates are required to mandatorily fill up the Detailed Application Form (DAF), which will be made available on the Commission’s Website https://upsconline.nic.infrom 24.12.2020 to 05.01.2021 till 06.00 P.M.  Important instructions regarding filling up of DAF and submitting the same ONLINE to the Commission will also be made available on the website. 

  • PM Modi addresses International Bharathi Festival 2020

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed International Bharathi Festival 2020 through video conferencing and paid tributes to the Bharathiyar on his Jayanti. The festival is being organised by Vanavil Cultural Centre to celebrate the 138th birth anniversary of Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi. The Prime Minister Congratulated the Scholar Seeni Viswanathan, for receiving the  Bharathi  Award for this year who was presented the award during the event.

    The Prime Minister said describing  Subramanya Bharathi is very difficult. Bharathiyar cannot be linked to any single profession or dimension. He was a  poet,  writer,  editor,  journalist,  social reformer,  freedom fighter,  humanist and much more, Modi said.
