  • Union Agriculture Minister: India is in a Good Position in terms of Agricultural Production

    Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said on Friday that India is in a very good position today in terms of agricultural production, with agricultural scientists playing an important role in addition to farmers and the government's farmer-friendly policies. Tomar said this after inaugurating the administrative building of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kandukur in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district.

  • Agriculture Officials Raid Factory Supplying Illegal Fertilizers

    The Agriculture Department raided a factory on the National Highway near Doraha on Friday for allegedly manufacturing eight to nine different types of unauthorized fertilizers. The factory owner has been arrested by police. Dr. Narinder Singh Benipal, who raided the factory with his team of block agriculture officers and agriculture development officers, claimed that the factory's owner, Vivek Aggarwal, the proprietor of Universal Crop Protection Firm, was selling unauthorized fertilizers to farmers at low prices.

  • Syngenta to launch 8 new bioinsecticides & 7 new biofungicides

    Syngenta is planning to launch three bioinsecticides and new biostimulants that act as probiotics and prebiotics on plants next year. The announcement came at the first session of the Syngenta Biological Academy, which brought together technicians from Syngenta's distribution chain.   • Oregon State University scientists to release a fruit fly-targeting wasp

    Oregon State University agricultural scientists will release a parasitic wasp that controls a highly destructive fruit fly in June after 12 years of research. According to Vaughn Walton, Extension entomologist and professor in the College of Agricultural Sciences, the United States Department of Agriculture has approved the release of the wasp, a lengthy process that took more than ten years from application to decision.
  • IHARA launches 3 new herbicides
