  • Lumpy Skin Disease: Over 2,000 Cattle Killed in Karnataka, Government to Provide Rs 13 Crore

    In the wake of increasing lumpy skin disease cases in cattle, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, directed the Finance Department to immediately release Rs 13 crore for the treatment of animals suffering from the disease. The Chief Minister also said that compensation will be paid for the death of cattle.

  • Adani Agri Logistics Gets Contract from FCI to Set up 4 Silos Complexes in UP, Bihar

    Following a competitive bidding process, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) awarded Adani Logistics Ltd a letter of award (LoA) for the construction of silo complexes at various locations throughout the nation. A statement released by the company said "Farmers currently have to wait for two to three days while their agricultural products go through the traditional farm-to-mandi procurement chain. But with the implementation of this new initiative, the processing time will only take one to two hours. This will greatly increase the effectiveness of procurement." 

  • Tomar Inaugurates Coconut Community Farmers' Conference at TNAU

    Addressing participants at the conference, Tomar said that the Government will continue to provide all possible assistance to farmers in coastal states in order to promote coconut cultivation in the country. He said efforts made in the field of research and development in recent years have resulted in the development of new technologies in farming and processing, as well as the improvement of existing technologies. 

  • Edible Oil Prices Goes Up Due to Festival Demand

    According to a report, the price of soybean oil, which is primarily used in homes for cooking foods, has increased by Rs 250 per tin of 15 kg over the last 15 days in the wholesale market. The reason for the steep hike in prices of edible oil is the Diwali festival. A trader told the media that every year before the Diwali festival, the demand for edible oil increases in the market. The price of soybean oil in the Itwari wholesale market is currently at Rs 2,200 per 15 kg tin, as compared to Rs 1,950 per 15 kg tin in the previous 15 days.
