    Running from November 13 to 16, 2023, the four-day event culminated with a valedictory address by Union Minister Parshottam Rupala. The minister underscored the profound importance of animal welfare within India's cultural tapestry, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all living beings and echoing the sentiment of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," signifying a global family. He further added that the welfare of animals is integral to the ethos of Indian culture and sanskriti, which aligns seamlessly with the modern concept of global One Health movement, emphasizing the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health and the importance of collective efforts for the welfare of all living beings.

  • Global Fisheries Conference India 2023 Set to Sail on 21 and 22 November on the Occasion of World Fisheries Day

    Department of Fisheries, Government of India is organizing the Global Fisheries Conference India 2023 to celebrate the contribution and achievements of fishers, fish farmers, and other stakeholders and reinforce commitment towards sustainable and equitable development of the Fisheries sector on the occasion of World Fisheries Day. The two-day event will be held on the 21st and 22nd of November 2023 at the Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad with the theme 'Celebrate the Fisheries and Aquaculture Wealth'. This was stated by the Union Minister of Fishing, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Parshottam Rupala during a curtain raiser press conference in New Delhi today.

  • 2.84 LMT Wheat, 5830 MT Rice Sold During 21st E-Auction Under Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic)

    As a part of the Government of India’s initiative for market intervention to control the retail price of rice, wheat, and atta, weekly e-auctions of both wheat and rice are organized. The 21st e-auction was held on November 15, 2023, wherein 3 LMT wheat and 1.79 LMT rice were offered under the Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) and 2.84 LMT wheat along with 5830 MT rice was sold to 2334 bidders. The weighted average selling price was Rs. 2246.86 per quintal for FAQ wheat against the reserve price of Rs. 2150 per quintal Pan India whereas the weighted average selling price of URS wheat was Rs. 2232.35 per quintal against the reserve price of Rs. 2125 per quintal.

  • CNH Signs MOU With ICAR – CITH Srinagar for Technical Collaboration in Fruit Harvesting

    CNH signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (ICAR-CITH), Srinagar to collaborate on fruit harvesting technology in India. The partnership will focus on enhancing the mechanization of fruit harvesting, specifically apples, integrating cutting-edge techniques. It will also foster the development of innovative solutions tailored to India's unique agricultural challenges. “This strategic partnership seeks to pioneer groundbreaking innovation within horticulture. Together with ICAR - CITH, we look forward to combining our knowledge and expertise to deliver a step change in agricultural efficiency and productivity, benefiting the farmers and the wider agriculture community,” said Dr Garv Modwel, Group Leader, Advanced Technology and Innovation, CNH India Technology Center.

  • PM Modi Launches Viksit Bharat Yatra in Jharkhand to Achieve Widespread Coverage of Key Government Initiatives

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 15th installment of over Rs 18,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Khunti, Jharkhand. This significant release aims to provide financial support to farmers across the country. The installment was released on the birthday of the ‘father of the land’ Bhagwan Birsa Munda, which is celebrated as the JanJaatiya Gaurav Divas every year. On the occasion, PM Modi launched the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan, an initiative with a budget of Rs 24,000 crore, aimed at ensuring the holistic development of tribal groups. On the foundation day of Jharkhand, Modi also laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects in Jharkhand worth Rs 7200 crores in multiple sectors like rail, road, Education, Coal, Petroleum and Natural Gas.
