  • IITs should start major research programmes to boost India’s rural economy: Venkaiah Naidu

    Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Monday (17th August) said that IITs must start major research programmes to boost rural economy through development of sustainable technologies.  He said the research at IITs as well as other higher education institutes should be relevant to society and it must focus on finding solutions to different problems faced by mankind from climate change to health

    issues.

  • Farmers in Odisha Happy after Good Rainfall

    Continuous rainfall in Odisha’s Sambhalpur district since last 3 days has brought respite to the farmers. The district has received 120.03 mm rainfall between Friday & Sunday. Moreover, agricultural activities in Sambhalpur had taken a hit as it received 39.19% less than the normal rainfall in July. Because of the scanty rainfall in July, growers, especially those in the non-irrigated belt of the district, were not able to apply the urea fertiliser on the paddy plants in time, which is important for the growth of the plant.

     

     

     

  • NEET News: SC refuses deferring NEET, JEE Exams scheduled for September

    The Supreme Court today rejected the plea for deferment of medical & engineering entrance examinations i.e. National Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in plea seeing directions for postponement & cancellation of the exams that was scheduled to be held in September.

    Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who was representing National Testing Agency (NTA), assured the court that all required precaution would be taken in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

  • Covid-19 India Updates: Bihar extends lockdown till 6th September

    Coronavirus Live updates: As per latest reports, the restrictions imposed in Bihar, to stop the spread of Covid-19 outbreak, have been further extended till 6th September. Till now, Bihar has recorded 1.03 lakh Coronavirus cases including 72,324 recoveries & 461 deaths.

    On the other hand, Susanta Singh, Odisha's Rural Development & Labour Minister on Monday said that he has tested positive for novel Coronavirus.
