Tourism Ministry to Host Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival in New Delhi
The Ministry of Tourism has joined hands with multiple State Governments and Union Territories (UTs) to organize the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav & Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Food Festival. The 3-day festival, set to take place from August 18th to 20th, 2023, in the capital city, aims to highlight the diverse flavours and dishes that define each region of the country.

Agriculture Department Introduces Poshaka Samriddhi Mission To Increase Millets & Vegetables Production
The Agriculture Department introduced the Poshaka Samriddhi Mission on Thursday, a new initiative aimed at increasing millet and vegetable production. Minister of Agriculture P. Prasad launched this effort during Farmers Day festivities on Chingam 1. The mission includes plans to raise millet production in Kerala to 3,000 tonnes and significantly increase protein-rich pulse production from 1,471 to 10,000 tonnes.

International Year of Millets 2023: Jambari Farmers Producer Co. Ltd., an FPO from West Bengal, has been employing a proficient way of producing millets. The FPO produces 100% hand-made Foxtail Millet ‘Rice’ that is not just nutritious but also sustainable. The husk and grains are traditionally separated using hands to make high-fibre millet rice. The unwanted husk is used to make bird feed. This way not a single part of the grain goes to waste, making the entire process sustainable.
