  • KAU Launches Free Online Course on IoT Concepts in Agriculture; Register Now

    The Centre for e-Learning at Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) is inviting applications for a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on 'IoT Concepts in Agriculture'. The course, conducted in English, aims to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills in leveraging Internet of Things (IoT) technologies for agricultural practices. The classes are scheduled to begin on 08th April 2024 and end on 1st May 2024. The online course spans over 24 days with a total of 10 sessions. Participants are required to dedicate approximately half to one hour daily for the course.

    The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized a crucial Workshop on "Cultivating Tomorrow: Advancing Digital Agriculture through IoT and AI," in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This significant event was hosted by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, India, along with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), operating under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, India.

  • UP Govt Plans to Install 100 Telemetric Weather Stations to Monitor Drought

    The Uttar Pradesh government is taking proactive steps to tackle the persistent issue of drought in the state. Just recently, they've put forward a plan to set up Telemetric Weather Stations (TWS) in the areas most affected by drought, covering a total of 100 tehsils across Uttar Pradesh. This initiative aims to closely monitor weather patterns and effectively manage drought situations, particularly in regions susceptible to such climatic adversities.
