  • IMD Predicts Extremely Heavy Falls over Southern India on Nov 18th & 19th

    The India Meteorological Department predicts heavy to extremely heavy rains in Southern India from 18th & 19th November. There will be light to moderate rain also expected in some areas. On 18th November, isolated heavy rainfall is expected over, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema & Karaikal and very heavy falls over the South Interior Karnataka & South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. On 19th November (Friday) there will be light to moderate rains expected at most places along with heavy to very rainfalls over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & heavy falls is expected at the isolated places over Rayalaseema & Karnataka.

  • Soybean & Poultry Farmers at Loggerheads over Soybean Import Extensions

    The Soybean & Poultry Farmers are at the loggerheads over the import of soya meal. While the farmers have started protesting against the continuation of imports as it has suppressed the domestic prices by 40% the poultry Breeders’ association, which represents poultry farmers & corporate have been lobbying for an extension of the import deadline from January 31st to March 31st saying high feed costs have damaged the industry.

     

  • Punjab CM Quashed Cases Related To Farmer Protest & Stubble Burning Against Farmers

    On 18th November (Thursday), the Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi quashed all cases that are related to the protest & stubble burning against the farmers. He dropped all FIRs against farmers, registered in-state during their protest against the Centre’s three farm laws. However, CM Charanjit Channi opposed the stubble burning process & requested the farmers to discontinue it.
