  • Fuel Price Update: Check Fuel Prices as of May 21

    The prices of gasoline and diesel have remained unchanged for over 40 days. Costs of petrol and diesel have climbed by Rs 10 per liter each during 14 revisions since the expiration of a four-and-a-half-month rate freeze on March 22. On April 6, fuel prices were increased by 80 paise per liter. Petrol currently costs Rs 105.41 per liter in Delhi, and diesel costs Rs 96.67 per liter, according to a price announcement from fuel merchants.

  • Survey: In the Past Three Months, the Average Monthly Budget Increased By 10% Due to Rising Fuel prices

    In a recent poll, 92 percent of households stated their monthly household expenses increased in the last three months due to an increase in the prices of gasoline, diesel, edible oil, household basics, and other relevant products and services. Local Circles got over 23,500 responses from over 12,000 households from 323 districts for the survey.

    The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) has released recommendations to make genetically modified (GM) agricultural research easier and to avoid the obstacles of employing foreign genes to alter crop profiles. The 'Guidelines for Safety Assessment of Genome Edited Plants, 2022' exempts researchers who utilize gene-editing technology to modify a plant's genome from getting approval from the Environment Ministry's Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee (GEAC).

  • Covid 19 Live Update: In the last 24 hours, the Active Covid-19 Caseload Has Decreased by 48 Cases

    According to official statistics released by the Union health ministry today, India recorded 2,323 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday, bringing the total number of active cases to 14,996. With 25 fatalities, the death toll rose to 5,24,348. Active cases account for 0.03 percent of all illnesses. The nationwide Covid-19 recovery rate, according to the Ministry, was 98.75 percent.

  • ICAR Develops New “Climate- Smart” Soyabean Varieties

    The Varietal Identification Committee has selected six soybean varieties fit for cultivation in the country's three agro-climatic zones, three of which were developed at the Indore centre. The committee has suggested the identification of 99 soybean varieties for the northern hill zone, 149 for the northern plain zone, and four soybean varieties for cultivation in Central India: NRC 152, NRC 150, JS 21-72, and Himso-1689. NRC 152, NRC 150, and NRC 149 are the three soyabean varieties created by the Indore centre. Dr. Nita, Director, ICAR-IISR, Indore said that "The specifically constituted Varietal Identification Committee meet was organized during the AGM,".
