Bharat Kisan Manch Accelerates Farmers & Rural Entrepreneurs Digitization, Launched in Collaboration with Mastercard and AEGF
The Agri Entrepreneur Growth Foundation (AEGF) has collaborated with Mastercard to launch Bharat Kisan Manch, its digital platform to provide millions of Indian farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs with access to markets and formal financial services. The platform will be powered by Mastercard’s Community Pass digital infrastructure, which makes it safer and easier for farmers to get paid more and faster for their produce. AEGF is an implementation arm of Syngenta Foundation, also supported by the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH), Tata Trusts, and several other social impact focused organizations in India.

Onion Traders Declare Indefinite Strike in Nashik to Protest Government Policies
Onion traders in the Nashik district of Maharashtra have initiated a protest by suspending auctions in all Agriculture Produce Market Committees (APMCs), sparking concerns about a potential shortage of this kitchen staple and an increase in retail prices. This protest comes in response to the Union government's decision to raise export duties on onions by up to 40 percent, a measure set to remain in effect until December 31. Their decision to halt onion auctions across APMCs in the district is motivated by the belief that this government decision will not only hinder onion exports but also impact onions in transit, resulting in substantial losses for farmers.

The Mahila Samman Savings Certificate is a small-scale savings initiative designed specifically for female investors. Its primary objective is to enhance women's involvement in financial investments and promote their economic inclusion. Let's delve into the details of this scheme. The MSSC is a government-backed savings plan tailored for women, introduced in the 2023 Budget. Its purpose is to empower women by encouraging their active participation in investment activities. Under this scheme, women can secure a guaranteed fixed interest rate of 7.5%. This investment opportunity is available for a limited two-year period, running from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2025. Beyond this timeframe, participation in the scheme is not possible.

Get a Loan With Kisan Credit Card In No Time, Finance Minister Launched Kisan Rin Portal
As of March 30, there were roughly 735 million KCC accounts, with an overall sanctioned loan limit of 8.85 trillion rupees. Official data indicates that in the current fiscal year, the government has distributed agricultural loans totalling 6,573.50 crore rupees at preferential interest rates from April to August. Furthermore, the advantages of the Kisan Credit Card scheme can also be extended to additional farmers, as non-KCC holders have been identified through the PM Kisan program. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched the Kisan Rin Portal. Through this portal, holders of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) can avail the benefits of subsidized loans.
