  • India exports jackfruits to UK

    1.2 MT shipment of jackfruits is on its way to London, UK. These jackfruits produced in Tripura, have been packed with the assistance of APEDA.

  • India prepares itself for disaster emergencies

    Indian government organized an Online conference, to see the preparedness of different departments for any natural disasters.  The discussion centered around flood management, reservoir and river management, disaster management, early warning systems and other topics related to handling any disasters.   

  • Millions of farmers benefitted from MSP procurement

    Around 40 lakh farmers have benefitted from wheat procurement in the last year ending this 20th of May. Over 110 Lakh farmers have benefitted from paddy procurement in the same period. Government has invested hundreds of billions of rupees on this procurement.

  • The protests will be over when demands are met

    The protesting farmers have said they will end the protests as soon as their demands, of repealing the 3 now controversial laws and creation of a law on MSP, are met. On their protesting during a pandemic, they said why were these questions not raised during the recent state elections.

  • Delhi CM appreciates the efforts of Corona warriors

    Delhi CM has tweeted, again pointing out that the efforts of the frontline medical workers have guarded and protected us in these difficult times. He gave family of the Nitin Tanwar, cheque of a crore rupees, as Nitin a primary school teacher died due to infection which he caught while serving as a corona warrior.

  • Districts of Andhra Pradesh under alert for heavy rain

    Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Krishna are the Andhra Pradesh districts that are affected by heavy rainfall. Other districts close to these districts may also expect heavy rainfall.

  • From a water-deficient to a water-surplus tehsil

    Mouda tehsil of Nagpur district in Maharashtra used to be a water-deficient tehsil a few years back. A water rejuvenation project by NTPC, Maharashtra has increased the groundwater levels and made the land fertile with surplus water for irrigation.

    20.66 Lakh persons got themselves tested for COVID infection, in 24 hours ending at 11:00 AM today. This is a new record for the most number of people getting tested in a pandemic.

  • Yuan Longping, father of Chinese hybrid rice is no more

    Yuan Longping, who developed hybrid Chinese rice at a time when China was suffering from food shortages in 1970s, has expired. He was 91 and the reason for his death is organ failure.

  • Socially disadvantaged minority farmers will be relieved of their debts

    Minority farmers in USA, coming from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and not able to compete in the market will be relieved to hear US government is making a 4 billion plan to reduce their debt. The money will be transferred to banks which granted loans to these farmers.
