IMD Predicts Fresh Spell of Rains in These States
On 22nd September (Wednesday), the India Meteorological Department predicted a fresh spell of rains over Odisha from 25th September & Gangetic West Bengal from 26th of September. IMD said that the isolated heavy rains are likely to continue over Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan & Gujarat state in the next 5 days. In the latest weather update, IMD said that there will be scattered to fairly widespread rains along with isolated heavy falls are likely over the Uttarakhand from 22nd – 26th over East Uttar Pradesh during 22nd -24th & over the West Uttar Pradesh and Haryana on 22nd September.

FSSAI Introduces New Logo for “Vegan” Products
The Food Safety & Standard Authority (FSSAI) of India on 21st September introduced a new logo to identify the vegan products in the country. The new logo is green in color and has a V inscribed in the middle with a small plant on top of it & a Vegan written at the bottom. The design informed FSSAI that it resonates with the current logo for vegetarian & non0vegetarian products.

Agricultural & Processed Food Exports Up by 21.8%
The government said that India’s export of agriculture & processed food products rose by 21.8% in April-August with fresh fruit, rice & vegetables, and cereal exhibiting growth. The export of the products under the ambit of the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) were $7.9 billion in the first 5 months of the fiscal against $6.4 billion years ago & the export of rice increased by 13.7% to $3.8 billion from $3.3 billion a year ago.

Telangana Government Signs MoU with Wingsure
The government of Telangana has entered into an agreement with Wingsure, an insurtech venture spinout of SRI International. As part of the agreement, Wingsure will provide deep-tech-based personalized crop insurance products & advisory services to the small, underserved farmers in the state. The Department of the Government of Telangana will guide & facilitate the implementation of solutions & the agriculture department will offer the on-ground implementation through its existing work.
