  • NASA to Conduct Agricultural & Earth Science Research in Collaboration with USDA

    NASA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) have solidified their collaboration through the signing of a memorandum of understanding. This agreement aims to strengthen joint efforts in enhancing agricultural and Earth science research, technological advancements, agricultural management, and the utilization of scientific data and models in agricultural decision-making.

  • Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram District Anticipates Agricultural Boost as Monsoon Arrives

    Agriculture activity in Vizianagaram district is set to revive as the monsoon arrives, bringing relief to farmers who rely on rainwater for their farming operations. Moderate rainfall in various parts of the district has raised hopes among farmers who have eagerly awaited the monsoon season. While officials have been promoting the cultivation of millets and commercial crops, it is anticipated that paddy cultivation will still dominate in many areas. Out of the total farmland area of 121,153 hectares, paddy is expected to be grown in approximately 93,645 hectares this season.

  • Wheat and Rice e-Auction to be Conducted by FCI

    In an effort to curb inflationary trends and regulate retail prices of wheat and rice, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) has been directed by the government to conduct e-auctions for these essential commodities. This move comes as part of a market intervention strategy aimed at stabilizing prices and ensuring fair distribution. Chairman and Managing Director of FCI, Ashok K. K. Meena, made this announcement during a press conference held yesterday in New Delhi.

Notably, Mark Douglas, the President & CEO of FMC, was also present among the 15 CEOs invited, representing the agriculture industry.
