  • Millet, Sesame crops gets damaged due to incessant rainfall in Gujarat

    Continuous rainfall in Gujarat’s Saurashtra has caused widespread damage to crops like sesame and millet. Both the crops are either ready to be harvested or in its late maturing stage, when dry weather and clear sky are required. Officials said that will also affect the yield of cotton as well as groundnut. It has been raining continuously in Saurashtra for over two weeks. Almost all the districts of the region have recorded more than 100% rainfall.

  • Covid-19 News: Coronavirus will be under control by Diwali 2020: Dr Harsh Vardhan

    Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Health Minister on Sunday (30th August) expressed confidence that the India’s COVID-19 count would be ‘under control’ by Diwali this year. While inaugurating the 'Nation First' webinar series, conducted by the Anathkumar Foundation, Dr Vardhan pointed out that India was much ahead in dealing with the pandemic.

     

  • Weather Alert! Rainfall likely over Delhi, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, North-east India on 1 September

    According to the weather channel, widespread rainfall along with thunderstorms are likely over Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, Sikkim, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu.

    In addition, scattered showers are expected over Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall is also likely over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Maharashtra & Goa.

  • PM Modi expresses gratitude to Farmers; extends greetings on Onam

    PM Narendra Modi has conveyed his good wishes to people on the occasion of Onam today (31st August 2020) and said this is a unique festival of India that celebrates harmony. PM Modi also posted a clip of his mention of the festival in his Mann Ki Baat broadcast on 30th August 2020.

    He tweeted, "Greetings on Onam. This is a unique festival, which celebrates harmony".  "It is an occasion to show gratitude to our hardworking farmers. May everyone be blessed with joy & best health."
