Agronomy is the study and technique of growing and harvesting plants for food, fuel, fiber, chemicals, recreation, or land conservation. Agronomy has evolved to incorporate plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, and soil science studies. It is the application of several sciences, including biology, chemistry, economics, ecology, earth science, and genetics. Agronomists are a subset of agronomists.
