Cytokinin

Cytokinin decrease the build-up of sugar during leaf senescence, boost the production of chlorophyll and extend the photosynthetic period. When leaf cell development is in the proliferation stage or the expansion stage, cytokinin, in the appropriate order, promotes cell division and boosts cell expansion.

The majority of complex plants, microbes, mosses, and fungi contain these hormones. There are approximately 200 different types of cytokinins, both synthetic and natural, and the majority of them are typically produced in the meristem of the roots. It is the term of a region of plant tissue that actively encourages cell division. A meristem is a region of the plant that develops similar to the top of the stem.

Usually, tissues that divide quickly, including developing shoots and root apices, produce cytokinins.
