Erosion

The wearing away of sand, soil, or rock by water or wind is known as erosion. The term erosion, in its wider definition, refers to the general wearing down and molding of all structures on Earth's surface, involving weathering of rock, soil in its original place, movement of weathered material, and deterioration caused by wind activity and river, marine, and mountain glaciers processes.
