The management of wooded land, together with adjacent rivers and wasteland, is done largely for the purpose of collecting timber, however, conservation and recreational uses are also taken into consideration. The forest manager is also in charge of enforcing other land regulations, such as those that safeguard wildlife and forests from weeds, insects, fungal diseases, erosion, and fire.
