Forestry

The management of wooded land, together with adjacent rivers and wasteland, is done largely for the purpose of collecting timber, however, conservation and recreational uses are also taken into consideration. The core operations of forestry are the removal and replacement of trees, and the fundamental goal is to ensure a steady supply of timber by methodically planned removal and replacement. The forest manager is also in charge of enforcing other land regulations, such as those that safeguard wildlife and forests from weeds, insects, fungal diseases, erosion, and fire.
