Raised beds also act as a protective barrier against the movement of pests and pathogens from adjacent natural soils. Additionally, they are favoured because they eliminate the need to dig into the ground, which can be challenging or impractical in areas with rocky terrain, tree roots, or the risk of damaging buried utility lines.
