Xenobiotic

Xenobiotic refers to a chemical substance that is not naturally produced or typically present within an organism, including compounds found in higher concentrations than normal. It can also include natural compounds that become xenobiotics when absorbed by another organism, like the uptake of human hormones by fish downstream of sewage treatment plant outfalls or the chemical defences produced by certain organisms to protect themselves from predators.
