PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, initiated by the Modi government with the goal of providing financial assistance to small and marginal farmers of India is reported to be stuck in some parts of the country especially in Uttar Pradesh. Even, the third installment has stopped due to different problems, an internal source said. However, the government claims that farmers will get the third installment after the festivals, by the end of November in any case. Let’s know in detail why the government has to stop the third installment of the scheme when it has so far reached 1.62 crore farmers.
What’s the Major Challenge?
Recently, the government has announced that Aadhaar Card is mandatory to avail or apply for any scheme for every citizen including farmers. As per the report, all District Magistrates of Uttar Pradesh have directed its officials to include only those farmer's names who have put the correct Aadhaar feedings on the PM Kisan Portal. The farmers who are not able to link their Aadhaar card with their Kisan account will be restricted from getting benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
Millions of farmers are facing this huge problem after the center’s decision to link Aadhaar Card with this scheme. The farmers are no longer able to receive the amounts in their accounts due to the mistakes in the Aadhar card or the absence of Aadhaar card. However, the farmers whose Aadhaar card feeding is right can get the benefit from the scheme.
As per sources, the Aadhaar card details of most of the farmers of UP are not matching with the details of revenue records. If there are errors in the name, then the address is not matching. At the same time, there are a large number of farmers whose Aadhaar number is wrongly recorded on the portal.
Farmer’s protest –
Farmers are coming on roads to protest against the center’s decision. Farmers of the state protested when the government made Aadhaar card feeding mandatory for this scheme. On this issue, farmers said that if they don’t receive the amount of the scheme at the right time, then it will have a huge impact on their crops and farming and they will be forced to take loans.
