Kerala farmers can now avail the benefits of online certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management in the state. The 15 day online course has been started by the Kerala Agriculture University along with the help of Kerala Agriculture Development and Farmer’s Welfare.
According to reports, the certificate course has been planned in order to make the states fertiliser dealers more aware of the fertilisers. The course has been formed keeping in view the issued orders from the Ministry of Agriculture Development and Farmer’s Welfare.
According to the orders the 15 days course is mandatory for all the state’s fertiliser dealers in order to obtain or retain their license of dealership.
The INP course would make the fertiliser dealers to be more competitive and also provide the farmers with the best services. The course would certainly help the dealers to act as para-extension professionals in the field of agriculture.
The fertiliser dealers and other Agri dealers are the prime source of agriculture information to all the farming community along with supply of the inputs and credits. The decision of online course was also made because majority of these dealers had no proper knowledge about agriculture or any kind of agriculture education.
With respect to all the Covi-19 guidelines and the Unlock process, it was decided that the course would be started with 2 hours of theory class online and practical classes would be conducted in the Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s of the respective districts in the state daily for 15 days.
Central Training Institute, Mannuthy along with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra will be in charge for the conduction of the entire certification course. The entire course would be conducted under the guidance of the Directorate of Extension, Kerala Agriculture University.
The course will be taught by the Scientist of the Kerala Agriculture University and would be responsible for both the theory as well as the practical classes.
The certification course would help the flow or proper knowledge with regards to agriculture practises as well as good agriculture practises. Farmers too would be benefited as the dealers can help pass their certification knowledge about the services and hence this would help in the overall betterment of Agriculture in the state of Kerala.
