Kisan Credit Card Scheme is a Government of India scheme that provides farmers with timely access to credit. It was launched in 1998 with the aim of providing short term formal credit to farmers and was created by NABARD.
Through KCC, farmers can take a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh at 4 % interest. Now it has also become easy for the beneficiary of PM Kisan to apply for KCC. According to media reports, more than 2 crore Kisan Credit Cards were issued during the Corona period. Most of these cards were given to small farmers.
KCC was started to meet the needs of farmers associated with farming, fisheries and animal husbandry. Its purpose was to provide them with a credit limit for a short period of time.
The biggest feature of KCC is that farmers have to pay less interest in it. Its interest rate starts from 2 % and an average of 4%. With the help of this, farmers can repay the loan after the harvest. Farmers get a lot of help through this scheme.
