Following the Union financial plan proposal to commence chemical-free farming along the Ganga, the Madhya Pradesh government has selected natural farming along the Narmada river, which is regarded as the life saver of express, an authority said on Thursday.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a meeting of ministers and top officials on Wednesday, and the conclusion was made, he said.

"A particular campaign to encourage natural farming over a 5-kilometer length on both sides of the Narmada river should be initiated," the chief minister remarked during the meeting. According to the source, Chouhan also asked ministers who farm to switch to organic farming on their property.

The state government's decision comes a day after Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared in her budget speech that compound-free farming will be promoted across the nation, beginning with areas inside a 5-km-wide passageway along the Ganga. The Narmada River, the country's fifth longest river, begins in Amarkantak in Madhya Pradesh's Anuppur region and makes its way across the state for 1,077 kilometers.

Organic Farming: Chemo-synthetic pesticides, mineral fertilizers, and genetically engineered organisms are all forbidden in organic agricultural agriculture. The uncontrolled use of these pesticides in traditional farming poses a significant danger to both crop quality and the environment.

Organic farming offers various advantages, such as the preservation of the organic content of the soil. Organic farmers utilize strategies to preserve and increase fertility, soil composition, and biodiversity, as well as to minimize erosion. Reduce the risks of dangerous material exposure in humans, animals, and the environment. There are various certification courses available that an individual can refer to if he is passionate about Organic Farming.

Organic farming is without a doubt the finest way to build a safe, healthy, and clean environment, and employing biofertilizers rather than chemical fertilizers offers farmers economic and environmental benefits with soil health and fertility.
