National Seeds Corporation Pays Ever Highest Dividend for 2018-19 to Government

Today at Beej Bhawan, National Seeds Corporation Limited has paid ever highest Dividend of Rs 12.40 Crores to the Government of India which is 30% of the Profit After Tax (PAT). The dividend cheque was presented by V.K. Gaur, CMD, NSC to the Hon'ble Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. On this occasion Parshottam Rupala, Kailash Choudhary, Ministers of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Sanjay Agarwal, IAS, Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India were also present.

Today at Beej Bhawan, National Seeds Corporation Limited has paid ever highest Dividend of Rs 12.40 Crores to the Government of India which is 30% of the Profit After Tax (PAT). The dividend cheque was presented by V.K. Gaur, CMD, NSC to the Hon'ble Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. On this occasion, Parshottam Rupala, Kailash Choudhary, Ministers of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Sanjay Agarwal, IAS, Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India were also present.

During the last three years Company has paid a dividend of Rs 11.46 Crores for 2015-16, Rs 12.03 crores for 2016-17 and Rs 7.49 crores for 2017-18 respectively. Besides dividend, the corporation has paid Rs 24.68 crores to the Central Exchequer which comprises Rs 0.55 crores towards Dividend Tax, Rs 21.95 crores towards Income Tax and Rs 0.18 crores towards GST. In this manner, a sum of Rs 37.08 crores has been paid to the Central Exchequer for 2018-19.

An increase of 66%  has been recorded in comparison to the previous year. In the financial year 2018-19, NSC has earned 65.41% more net profit. Urban Kitchen garden kit of vegetable seeds was also introduced during the occasion.

NSC is the Apex level Sole Government of India Company for production and marketing of seeds under the administrative control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has, land resources and water reservoirs to produce quality seeds. Sees are made available to the farmers at a reasonable price to ensure food security in the country.

To ensure better results and contribute towards better income of farmers and to boost those measures, the company is ensuring quality seeds through its improved infrastructure all over the country and also taken new initiatives like a greater emphasis on the production of oilseeds, pulses, Nutri-cereals, fodder and hybrid among others.
