Due to the ongoing nationwide farmer's protest, the third Installment of PM- KISAN Scheme is likely to get delayed. Moreover, it has been delayed since the beginning of the month and the situation has worsened due to the intensifying protest.
However, earlier the instalment was normally transferred to bank accounts of the beneficiaries within the first 10-15 days of the month.
PM-Kisan Status: Govt. Ready to Transfer Rs 2,000 to 90 Million Bank Accounts
“All preparations are in place for transferring ₹2,000 each to 90 million bank accounts. We are just waiting for instructions from higher-ups whether to send money in a phased manner or at one go,” said an agriculture ministry official.
However, as per sources, the agriculture ministry officials are busy and having a tough time dealing with ongoing farmer protests.
“It may be one of the reasons. However, in the last fiscal also, the instalment due in December was disbursed next month to 60 million farmers at one go by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a ceremony in Bengaluru. This time too, the government may plan a similar exercise after resolution of the farmer crisis,” the official said.
During this Covid-19 crisis, the first two instalments were transferred within 15 days, helping farmers buy agri inputs.
