According to an order issued by the municipal government and water supply division, the third scheme would encompass 32 habitations in seven Panchayats of Sirkazhi Union in Mayiladuthurai district.

A combined water supply scheme will be implemented for 109 rural habitations in  Lalgudi and Pullambadi Unions in Trichy, while a fifth scheme would assist Gangaikondan and 21 other rural habitations in Manur Union of  Tirunelveli, using the river Thamiraparani as its source.

Before giving sanction, the government evaluated the request of the mission director, Jal Jeevan Mission, and the managing director of Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD).
