Millets are a smart food because they are good for your health, good for the environment because they require less water and have a low carbon footprint, and good for farmers because they are more resilient and climate-smart.
Apart from nutrition, one of the primary reasons for AARDO member countries' and scientists' interest in millets is the potential of millets as a future crop in the context of climate change - global warming, as an increase in temperature can severely impact agriculture and the productivity of major cereals, threatening the food security of billions of people.
Course Objectives:
-
Awareness enhancement and Revalorization of Millets cultivation in AARDO member countries;
-
Value Addition to Millets with safety regulation;
-
Value Chain in Millets; and
-
