Hindustan Zinc CEO, Arun Misra Elected As New Chairman of International Zinc Association

Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, has been elected as the next Chairman of the International Zinc Association (IZA).

Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, has been elected as the next Chairman of the International Zinc Association (IZA). Misra is the first Indian and Asian to hold the role of acting chairman of the IZA. 

Hindustan Zinc is India's largest and the world's second largest zinc-lead miner. Misra said the organization has a great team of specialists, and he's excited to work with them to increase worldwide demand for zinc while also emphasizing its importance to human health, crop nutrition, sustainable development, and modern life. 

The International Zinc Association (IZA) is a non-profit organization that represents the global zinc industry. Its aim is to improve zinc products and markets via research, development, technology transfer, and communication of the unique characteristics that make zinc a sustainable and vital component for a wide range of applications. 

"We at IZA-India are quite excited with Misra's appointment as Chairman," stated Rahul Sharma,  Director-India, IZA. "He, along with other members, will strive to address the concerns of the Industry and underline the significance of zinc in crop nutrition, infrastructure, and human health," Sharma added. "As the Industry leader, Misra has a deep understanding of the industry and will accelerate IZA's efforts towards increasing global consumption of Zinc and making India a self-reliant market for Commodities, specifically Zinc."
