TISS, one of India's premier institutions for social sciences, is seeking applications from qualified scholars worldwide for the position of Associate Professor. This opportunity is on a contractual basis initially for two years, with the possibility of extension based on institute guidelines aligned with UGC norms.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:

Postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent) in disciplines such as economics, sociology, social work, development studies, or environmental sciences.

PhD in relevant fields with a consistent academic record.
Experience:

Minimum eight years of teaching and/or research experience, equivalent to an Assistant Professor position.

At least seven publications in peer-reviewed international or national UGC-listed journals.

Total research score of 75 as per UGC criteria.
Desirable Qualifications

Interdisciplinary Focus:

Candidates with research expertise in water policy, governance, and sanitation issues are preferred.

Expected to contribute actively to the Postgraduate Diploma in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene program.

Ability to teach courses like drinking water and sanitation, sewage management, and public programs in water and sanitation.

Additional Skills:

Demonstrated leadership qualities and a record of securing research funding.

Proficiency in multitasking, team collaboration, and high-quality research proposal writing.
