The Division of Plant Pathology at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in New Delhi is hosting a walk-in interview for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position on June 30, 2024. This opening is part of the IIT Kharagpur AI4ICPS I Hub Foundation funded project, aimed at advancing AI-based crop health monitoring and risk management for rice agroecosystems.

Project Overview

The project, titled "AI-based Crop Health Monitoring and Risk Management for Rice Agroecosystems," offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated Junior Research Fellow. The role promises a monthly emolument of Rs 37,000 plus 24% HRA, bringing the total to Rs 45,880 per month.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should possess:

  • A Master's degree in Plant Pathology, Plant Sciences, or Botany with at least 60% marks, and either a four- or five-year Bachelor’s degree.

  • Alternatively, candidates with a Post Graduate degree in Basic Sciences with a three-year Bachelor’s degree and a two-year Master’s degree, who have qualified UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET/GATE, or those holding a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, are also eligible.

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in host-pathogen interaction, pathogen infection modeling, epidemiology, or familiarity with machine learning or artificial intelligence.

Age Limit

The upper age limit for applicants is 35 years. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman/Women as per Government of India guidelines.

While the primary location for this role is the Division of Plant Pathology at IARI, New Delhi, the selected candidate may also be required to work at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, Kolkata.
