Mizoram University is inviting applications for the position of Registrar, Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor and Assistant Librarian at Mizoram University. Here are the details: 

Position Overview 

Qualifications  and Eligibility

Registrar

• Requires a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade. 

• Must have 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor at Academic Level 11 or higher, or 8 years at Academic Level 12 or above, including roles as an Associate Professor with educational administration experience. 

• Alternatively, equivalent experience in research institutions of higher education, or 15 years of administrative experience, with at least 8 years as a Deputy Registrar or equivalent role.

Assistant Librarian

• Master's Degree in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation Science with at least 55% marks is required. 

• Candidates must have a good academic record, knowledge of library computerization, and have cleared the NET/SLET/SET or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC regulations. 

• Those with a Ph.D. before July 11, 2009, are exempt from NET/SLET/SET if they meet specific conditions, including regular mode Ph.D., external evaluation, open viva, and publication of two research papers. Certification by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs) is needed.

Assistant Professor

• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a relevant subject from an Indian or accredited foreign university. Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR, or similar accredited tests like SLET/SET. Candidates awarded a Ph.D. as per UGC regulations (2009/2016) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

• Ph.D. degree from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in global university rankings (QS, THE, ARWU).

Associate Professor

• Good academic record with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.

• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).

• Minimum of eight years of teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor in a university, college, or accredited research institution/industry.

• Minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.

• Total research score of 75.

Professor

• Eminent scholar with a Ph.D. in the relevant discipline and significant published work, including at least 10 peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journal publications.

• Minimum of ten years of teaching experience as Assistant/Associate Professor or equivalent research experience with evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.

• Total research score of 120.

Monthly Remuneration 

• Registrar: Rs. 1,44,200/-

• Professor: Rs. 1,44,200/-

• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,31,400/-

• Assistant Professor: Rs. 57,700/- 

• Assistant Librarian: : Rs. 57,700/-
