The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), Pusa Campus, New Delhi, has announced vacancies for two contractual positions. The positions include one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and one Young Professional II (YP II) under the externally funded ICAR project titled “Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools”.

Positions Available

  1. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
    • Post No.: 1

    • Emoluments: ₹31,000 + HRA per month for the 1st and 2nd year; ₹35,000 per month + HRA for the 3rd year

    • Age Limit: Maximum 35 years for men; 40 years for women

    • Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany or any relevant discipline of life sciences with desirable experience.

    • Desirable Qualifications: Experience in basic molecular techniques, genetic transformation of crops, genome editing of plants, plant tissue culture, and scientific writing.

  2. Young Professional II (YP II)
    • Post No.: 1

    • Emoluments: ₹42,000 per month (Fixed)

    • Age Limit: Minimum 21 years; Maximum 45 years

    • Essential Qualifications: Postgraduates in Biotechnology/Plant Physiology/Plant Biochemistry/Genetics & Plant Breeding/Botany or graduate degree holders in relevant Agricultural Sciences/Engineering/Technology.

    • Desirable Qualifications: Similar to SRF position qualifications.

  • The engagement will be purely on a contractual basis, time-bound, non-regular, and co-terminus with the project.

  • The tenure of engagement will initially be for up to 12 months from the date of engagement or the term of the project, whichever is earlier.
