Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is scheme that aims to connect the poorest people of the country with a bank account. It is one of the most successful schemes of the Central government which was launched by PM Narendra Modi on 28 August 2014. Under PM Jan Dhan Yojana, the poor people can open a bank account at zero balance. Along with this, the account holder is also insured.

The special feature of this scheme is that the account holder is given the facility to withdraw up to Rs 5000 even if there is no money in the account. With this, poor families can fulfil their needs in an emergency.
How to get Rs 5000 profit from your jan dhan account?
To avail this facility, your PM Jan Dhan account (PM Jan Dhan A / c) should be linked to Aadhaar. For this, you do not have to do much, just go to your bank and fill the Aadhaar linking form and submit it.
Overdraft facility:
This means withdrawing more money than the amount in your account. This facility is offered to select customers. Usually this facility is available in the current account. If you have Rs 5000 in your bank account and suddenly you need Rs 10000, then you can withdraw it from Jan Dhan account. For this, banks have made certain rules.

If you keep minimum balance in Jan Dhan account for a certain time, as well as regularly use Rupay

Debit Card card issued with TE, then you can get the facility of overdraft.

It is to be noted that accident insurance of Rs 1 lakh is also given to the account holder on the Rupay Debit card. Second insurance of Rs 30000 is also available. If something unfortunate happens to you, the person nominated by the account holder can claim a total of Rs 1.30 lakh.
