CAT 2024 Registration: The online registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024, the entrance exam for Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other business schools, is set to close today, September 13. Prospective candidates have until 5 PM to submit their applications on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. This year's examination will be conducted by IIM Calcutta.
Scheduled for November 24, CAT 2024 admit cards will be available starting November 5. The results are expected to be announced in the second week of January. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (or equivalent CGPA), while the requirement is 45% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Students in their final year of graduation can also apply provisionally.
The application fee for CAT 2024 is Rs 1,250 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates and Rs 2,500 for all others. The test will include three sections—Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA)—with a total duration of 120 minutes. Candidates will have 40 minutes to complete each section, and section-switching will not be permitted during the exam.
CAT is an essential exam for admission to postgraduate and doctoral-level management programs at IIMs and several other institutions across India.
