Dr Inderjeet Singh GADVASU’s VC Elected as the President of ISBD

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana was elected as the President of the Indian Society for Buffalo Development (ISBD).

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana was elected as the President of the Indian Society for Buffalo Development (ISBD) whereas Dr. SPS Ghuman, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, GADVASU will be the new Secretary of ISBD .

Both were elected in the General Body Meeting of ISBD. Dr. Inderjeet Singh will take the charge of the President from Dr. SS Dahiya. The ISBD is a registered society since 1987 with more than 1700 registered members and aims for the advancement of all aspects of buffalo production at farms and institutes. 

The outgoing President Dr. Dahiya in his congratulatory remarks thanked all the members of the Executive Committee and the Life members ISBD for their continued support during his tenure as the President. 

He also congratulated the new executive committee and put across his faith in the able leadership of Dr Inderjeet Singh to carry forward the good work of ISBD.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh popularly known as 'Murrah Man', threw light on the contribution of animal husbandry in the Indian economy with special reference to buffalo development. Dr. Singh is a staunch believer that with the development and improvement of buffalo we can support our farmers in the real sense.

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was established at Ludhiana on August 9, 2005, and it started functioning w.e.f. April 21, 2006 for promoting livestock production, health, and prevention of the disease(s) through integrated teaching, research and extension programme
