A delegation of Dutch greenhouse horticulture experts will visit India from November 13 to 22 as part of the HortiRoad2India initiative, aimed at fostering collaboration in sustainable food systems and innovative agricultural solutions. The experts will attend the Krishi Bharat Conference in Lucknow and visit Chennai and Hyderabad to meet potential partners, stakeholders, and investors to enhance India’s food security and agricultural efficiency.
The Netherlands is renowned for its advanced greenhouse farming techniques, which focus on resource efficiency and the production of high-quality fruits and vegetables. HortiRoad2India, a public-private partnership led by Dutch Greenhouse Delta, Innovation Quarter, and Rotterdam Partners, seeks to support India’s evolving food ecosystem through Indo-Dutch collaborations.
Desh Ramnath, Director India at Dutch Greenhouse Delta, highlighted the potential for significant partnerships, expressing confidence that collaboration could greatly enhance India's food system. The delegation’s visit will involve targeted meetings with growers, retailers, and food service businesses to refine business cases, develop sustainable solutions, and establish long-term collaborations.

In addition, HortiRoad2India will host dedicated business case sessions in each city, providing Dutch and Indian partners with the opportunity to explore collaborative greenhouse projects. During these 1.5-hour sessions, participants will work together to complete a structured format that assesses the feasibility of high-potential business cases, focusing on challenges, budget, needs, and ambitions. An initial budget will be drafted on-site, offering participants a clear view of the project's viability from the outset.
