As part of the Department of Food and Public Distribution's 100 Days Achievements, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) has launched a major digital transformation initiative to modernize its supply chain management system. This project centers around the introduction of ANNA DARPAN, a microservices-based integrated system designed to streamline operations across all levels, from Mandis to FCI’s headquarters. The system aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve user experience, and facilitate data-driven decision-making within the supply chain.
M/s Coforge Limited has been selected as the system integrator for this ambitious initiative, with the contract finalized on June 14, 2024. Coforge will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ANNA DARPAN. This comprehensive solution includes the provisioning of a cloud environment to host the system and uses a service mesh architecture for smooth communication between microservices. It also integrates various internal and external systems to ensure seamless operations within the supply chain.
In addition to core applications and microservices, ANNA DARPAN will feature a centralized analytics platform, empowering FCI to make more informed and data-driven decisions. The system is designed to merge existing internal applications, reduce redundancy, and boost efficiency, while also providing a mobile-first approach to ensure accessibility anytime, anywhere.
M/s Coforge Limited is currently in the Requirement Gathering, Analysis, and Documentation phase. This involves an in-depth assessment of FCI’s operational processes, existing systems, and data analytics landscape. Representatives from Coforge, in collaboration with FCI’s IT Division, have been conducting visits to field offices to understand the full scope of FCI’s requirements.
These efforts aim to ensure that ANNA DARPAN is tailored to meet the organization’s specific operational needs. The project is still in progress, with requirement gathering actively underway.
