The Government of West Bengal has introduced a beneficial scheme for school-going girls. The name of this scheme is Kanyashree Prakalpa Yojana. It is considered one of the most important schemes for girls. Under this scheme, the government provides scholarships to schoolgirls. This scheme allows every girl to attend school and complete education. Women's rights are also protected under this scheme.
Kanyashree Prakalpa has been started by the West Bengal Government to improve the status and wellbeing of girls, specifically those from socio-economically backward families through Conditional Cash Transfers.
According to the state's Women and Child Development Department, Kanyashree Prakalpa Yojana was started in 2013, and by 2017, Rs 7,588.90 crore was allocated and 7,237.28 crores were spent on this scheme. The special thing was that the scheme showed up a huge impact abroad and in 2017 it was awarded by the United Nations.
Kanyashree's goal is to ensure the girl's presence in the school and postpone their marriages at least till the age of 18.
Govt. Offers 25 Thousand
Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 25,000 to the girl child when they reach the age of 18 years. The government provides scholarships annually to girls up to the age of 18. The main objective of this scheme is to significantly improve the education of girls and especially those girls belonging to families living below the poverty line. It has been given international recognition by The United Nations and UNICEF.
The scheme has two cash transfer components:
The first is an Annual incentive of Rs. 750 to be paid yearly to the girls of the age group 13 to 18 years (studying in Class VIII equivalent or above annualy) that they stayed in education, given if they are unmarried at that point.
The second is a One-Time Grant of Rs. 25,000/-, to be paid after a girl turns 18, given that she was engaged in an academic pursuit and was unmarried as well.

If you are eligible to apply and you have all the documents then you can apply for this Kanyashree Yojana by following the procedure given below.

To register for this scholarship, applicants have to get the application form from the concerned school/institute. These enrollment forms are available for free at the school office.

The application form has three sections; personal details section, contact details, address, and school details.

The applicant will have to fill these sections and get her parents' signature or thumb impression.

It has to be deposited in Head Master/Mistress's office.

Head of Department will verify the details submitted by the students and put an official stamp.

Take acknowledgement slip and keep application number for future reference.
