The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and PM Mitra Parks have received a strong response in the country. Darshana Jardosh, Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, said after virtually inaugurating Avgol Nonwoven's New Manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, that the government's focus is on the Five Fs—Fibre to Farm to Fabric to Fashion to Foreign.

According to her, India contributes 25% of the global market for man-made fibre. PLI Scheme and PM Mitra Parks will assist in achieving the desired scale and size, as well as emerging as a strong competitor in the global market, in order to increase this share. Indorama has made a 100 percent FDI investment in its Halol plant.

She stated that the PM's vision for both the PLI Scheme and the PM Mitra Parks will aid in the development of an ecosystem in which the industry will reach new heights through Ease of Doing Business and Plug in Play. She went on to say that the Prime Minister's GatiShakti-National Master Plan for Multi-modal Connectivity will usher in a new era of governance.

Jardosh stated that the Prime Minister's clarion call of Vocal for Local has greatly aided local businessmen and artisans in the textile sector.

The PM Mitra Park scheme aims to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of creating an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and to place India firmly on the global textiles map. The Government of India approved the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles Products, namely MMF Apparel, MMF Fabrics, and Products of Technical Textiles, with an approved financial outlay of Rs 10,683 crore over a five-year period, to improve India's manufacturing capabilities and boost exports. To further boost the sector's growth, the government removed the cotton import duty.

She also announced that India will host the G20 Summit for the first time, with several countries participating. The summit will provide a forum for discussion on a variety of topics, including academics, investment, and, most importantly, how India's culture, which is linked to the textile industry, will be carried forward globally.

The new manufacturing facility has approximately 12-acres of land, which is sufficient for Non-woven Line expansion up to three High Speed lines. Nearly 175 crores were invested in the first phase, and the plant is ready for production from green field within 12 months.
