The celebration of colours known as Holi is observed nationwide. The event celebrates the arrival of spring and the end of winter. The holiday serves as a reminder of when good prevailed over evil.
Many regions of the nation observe Holi in different ways. People in Mathura and Vrindavan play Holi with flowers in addition to colours. In Vrindavan and Mathura, Phoolon wali Holi is very important for the Holi festivities.
Due to the widely held belief that Lord Krishna was born and lived most of his life in Vrindavan, Mathura, and the Braj area, Holi is a significant event for these regions. As a result, the entire region celebrates the holiday with great excitement and devotion. People from all around the world participate in the celebrations, which start far in advance of Holi Day.
Holika Dahan, on the other hand, is observed the day before Holi and honours the victory of good over evil. Demoness Holika is believed to have been burnt to ashes on this day. People lit bonfires on the eve of Holika Dahan to celebrate the victory of good. Before lighting bonfires, people do pooja, and there is an auspicious time to do so.
