The a-IDEA, Technology Business Incubator of ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized a one-day Sensitization Programme on “Entrepreneurship Development in Agriculture for the students of SKUAST, Jammu” to motivate them towards Agri-preneurship. About 137 students and faculty members virtually participated in the programme.
Focus Points of the Programme:
In her welcome address, Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, Professor & Head, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu stressed on the importance and scope of Start-Ups in Agri-preneurship.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. J.P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST, Jammu urged the students for focusing more on Agri-business. He also highlighted the need of Start-Ups to venture more into the processing and value-addition sectors for doubling the farmers’ income.
Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad advised the students to reap more benefits from the Government Schemes in the Start-Up arena. The demand of connecting sensitization programmes towards enriching Entrepreneurship as a profession was also underlined by Dr. Venkateshwarlu.
Dr. N.A. Vijay Avinashilingam, Additional CEO, a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad apprised about the importance of the Agri-Start-Up ecosystem and the need for incubation in the country.
Hiresha Verma, CEO, Han Agrocare & an Entrepreneur in Mushroom Business also shared her experiences of turning her idea into a successful Start-Up during the occasion.
