Ajay Mishra, Former Minister of State for Home Affairs, graced the Millionaire Farmer of India (MFOI) Awards 2024 at the iconic IARI Grounds, Pusa, New Delhi. Organized by Krishi Jagran in collaboration with the ICAR and sponsored by Mahindra Tractors, the three-day event celebrates the achievements of India’s progressive farmers and showcases groundbreaking agricultural innovations.
In his keynote address, Mishra highlighted the pivotal role of agriculture in driving human development and national prosperity, stating, “Agriculture is the foundation of our society. Improving farmers' income and making farming profitable is key to making India a developed nation.” He underscored the government’s efforts to increase awareness among farmers and boost the adoption of advanced technologies, including those aimed at groundwater management.
Highlighting the importance of cooperatives in empowering farming communities, Mishra noted, “Cooperatives are the backbone of rural development. Strengthening them will lead to more resilient farming systems and improved livelihoods for farmers.”
