Passengers can now give their ticket to someone else, according to new rules announced by the Ministry of Railways. Yes, you can now travel on someone else’s pre-booked ticket if they are not able to make it.
This implies that if you have a confirmed train ticket but cannot travel for whatever reason or find yourself suddenly preoccupied with something else, your ticket won't be wasted. You can save money by giving it to a family member.
However, it should be emphasized that this choice is only open to individuals who have a ticket that has been confirmed. The same can be transferred to the member of your family, including your mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband, and wife. The Indian Railways advises that customers submit requests for this service 24 hours prior to the departure of the train.
Follow these easy steps to transfer tickets

Take a printout of the ticket.

Then you need to visit the reservation counter of your nearest railway station.

You need to carry the Aadhar Card or Voting ID card of the person in whose name you need to transfer the ticket.

Now, apply for the transfer of the ticket at the counter.
Passengers must be aware that they can only use this service once. This implies that once a passenger has given a ticket to another individual, he or she cannot alter it again for whatever reason.
When to submit your application form?
You must submit your request for a ticket transfer to the Indian Railways one day before the scheduled departure date. However, the amount of time to submit a request varies depending on the passenger. For instance, a government worker who is traveling for work must apply for the transfer of his or her ticket 24 hours before to the train's departure. At the same time, those planning to attend a wedding or any other personal issues need to apply for the same 48 hours before the departure. They must also have the necessary documents with them.
Additionally, NCC students have access to this facility. Meanwhile, passengers can easily cancel their online request for a name change.
The officials will update the name of the passenger on the ticket as soon as you request it without any more issues.
