Highlighting the transformative potential of the processed food industry, Paswan projected it as a key driver of India's economic aspirations, contributing significantly to the vision of a developed nation, “Viksit Bharat.”
He underscored India’s culinary diversity, stating, “Swaad Seemayon ka Mohtaaz Nhi Hota” (Taste knows no boundaries), as a guiding principle to elevate Indian cuisine to global dining tables. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to food security, Paswan outlined India’s role as a leading agricultural producer and exporter, aiming to ensure that no one goes hungry worldwide. The Minister also addressed food safety and quality, announcing plans to expand food testing labs and enforce stringent regulations to meet global standards.
The event saw Baba Ramdev referring to Indusfood as “Aahaar ka Mahakumbh” (the grand congregation of food). He applauded India’s heritage of food, behavior, and thought, which he noted as widely respected and acknowledged internationally.
Abhishek Dev, Chairman of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), highlighted India's robust standing as the seventh-largest food exporter globally, achieving $50 billion in exports last year. Dev emphasized the potential for growth in processed and organic foods, setting ambitious targets to quadruple India's share in the organic food market within five years.
