Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced that customers can now transfer their confirmed ticket to another person willing to travel. Hence, if you are the one having a confirmed ticket but cannot make the journey because of certain reasons, you can now transfer your confirmed ticket to your family member.
You should keep in mind that you can transfer your confirmed ticket only to your family member —mother, father, brother, sister, son, husband, daughter, or wife. You should raise a request 24 hours before the train departure for transferring the confirmed ticket.
On the occasion of a wedding, festival, or any other personal issue then you are required to raise the request of transferring the ticket 48 hours before the train departure. This facility is also available for NCC candidates. Passengers who replace the counterpart must carry their identification documents during travel.
Steps to Transfer a Confirmed Train Ticket:
Step 1: Passengers are required to take the print of the ticket.
Step 2: Carry valid IDs in the form of the VOTER ID or AADHAR CARD of the person to whom you want to transfer the ticket.
Step 3: Visit the nearest railway station reservation counter.
Step 4: In the end, apply for the ticket transfer.
Important Points to Keep in Mind While Transferring Confirmed Train Ticket
The request must be raised before 24 hours of the train departure; however, it may vary as per the passenger who is raising the request. In case of a wedding occasion, festival, or personal issue, passengers may raise a ticket 48 hours before the departure of the train. NCC candidates can also avail of this benefit.
